SONG and NDN Collective Host Art Space and Skill Share in Support of the Movement To Stop Cop City

From March 9th-11th, Southerners on New Ground (SONG), NDN Collective, and other allied groups are hosting an art space at 561 W. Whitehall St. SW for activists, students, and all those aligned with the movements to Stop Cop City and Defend the Atlanta Forest. The space will be open from 10am to 9pm daily. Limited parking is available, and the lot closes at 9pm – no overnight parking allowed. Please enter through the W. Whitehall St. side.

Those interested in participating are encouraged to bring family, friends, and plenty of inspiration. Activities include making banners and signs, designing a poster, and even just exploring making art for the first time and making new friends. Guidance will available in stenciling, silk screening, and basic graphic design. Masks are required and provided. SONG and NDN Collective will provide art supplies, though artists are free to bring their own.

“Art has always been a part of residence movements. It has always aided in advancing our vision for liberation and awakening our people’s imagination. This fight against cop city and for our futures is just another part of that legacy: to be building art together in the service of our vision,” stated a local organizer who wished to remain anonymous.
