Video Emory’s Gaza solidarity encampment: one year after the police raid

Around 7:30 a.m. on April 25, 2024, students at Emory University set up a Gaza Solidarity encampment. Less than three hours later, multiple police forces raided the encampment.

After Oct. 7, 2023, students at universities across the country began widespread protests in solidarity with the people of Gaza. Police have responded to these protests with extreme acts of violence and repression.

Around 7:30 a.m. on April 25, 2024, students at Emory University set up a Gaza Solidarity encampment. Less than three hours later, multiple police forces raided the encampment.

Journalists with the Atlanta Community Press Collective, Lev Omelchenko and Wittika Chaplet, captured the scene in graphic detail.
